This attractive self catering cottage is located just 5 miles from the historic market town of Ashbourne, on the edge of the Peak District National Park. 

Carsington Water is just 3 miles from the cottage and here you can hire a cycle or canoe and enjoy the many water activities. You can learn how to sail and windsurf at this RYA national sailing centre. This water sports centre has lovely walks around its perimeter with beautiful views of the water and surrounding scenery.

Dovedale and the famous stepping stones, Tissington, Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton are just a short drive away. This area abounds with historic buildings, the magnificent Chatsworth House, Kedleston, Sudbury, Haddon, Hardwick and Eyam Halls are closeby. Ashbourne has many antique shops an dan open market - all worth a visit.

Trough Cottage is central for all the many attractions that Derbyshire has to offer such as the Stone Centre at Wirksworth, Heights of Abraham and Mining Museum at Matlock Bath, Tramway Museum at Crich, Midland Railway at Ripley and various Industrial museums along the Heritage Trail.

A wonderful area for walkers with the opportunity to walk the many picturesque Derbyshire Dales or explore the famous Peak District National Park with its magnificent heather covered moorlands.
